A recall program is used to remove contaminated product from the supply chain after it has left the farm. How recalled products are to be handled will be established on a case-by-case basis with each individual buyer. A Recall Form will be used to gather the information needed to complete the Recall. This information is recorded in the Recall Log.
Recalls will be initiated under circumstances such as:
Recall procedure will follow the SOP - Issuing A Food Recall. Recalled product will be handled using the SOP - Disposal of Contaminated Foods.
A mock recall is performed on actual delivered product annually to verify the effectiveness of the recall program. Record is kept in the Recall Log.
