Use the background map to find your site and add a building. The buidling can be traced over the satellite image, and dimensions can be entered if available on each edge. Adjustments can be made later as more information is available.
Repeat for multiple buildings.
Time: 1 Minute
Add Floors. The shape of added floors duplicates the first floor it is copied from and can be edited later.
This step gives you the mass of the building and total height.
This is the minimum that you need to start generating reports and using it for:
BIMgenie, Cost and lifecycle estimating, and other uses
Time: 1 Minute
Add spaces to floors using the Excel template and import in to create multiple spaces.
The layout of the spaces in plan can start by being approximate and adjusted later as more information is available.
Time: Import Excel file: 10 -20 seconds even with many spaces.
Even a large Excel file with thousands of spaces will import to create the BIM
This example shows part of a three story building with space names, areas, space height and department name
This is an example of a three story building with 175 Spaces and 62,548 SF Net Area.
The color coded blocks are spaces by department.
The large grey block is the estimated gross SF per floor.
Although the spaces are not arranged on each floor the resulting report of areas and departments will still be accurate based on the Excel data.
If only an image file is available, it can be used as background to refine the layout of the plan.
Here is an example of an image imported in as a background and then the spaces are moved and adjusted to align with it.
If a BIM file such as Revit is available, importing the file will generate an accurate plan.
What the ONUMA System needs as a minimum is the Revit space shape, or polyline of the space from CAD. If Revit is used there is a ONUMA Plug-In that imports the building floors, space shapes, and selected assets.
Here is an example floor plan with spaces that were created in Revit on the left, and then imported to ONUMA on the right. The image from Revit of the plan is included as a background for reference by importing it to ONUMA.
This is an example of an 18 story building with 1,029 Spaces and 255,764 SF Net Area.
Export to Google Earth from the ONUMA | System.
Note that the layout of each floor has not been edited and is the direct import from Excel with spaces stacked in rows.
The color coded blocks are spaces by department.
Floor slabs of gross estimated areas are visible
Data from each object such as spaces shows up as a pop-up in Google Earth.
