Privacy Policy for “OnlyPets GlimmerSoil”

OnlyPets Studio respects your privacy and data security. This Privacy Policy explains how “OnlyPets GlimmerSoil” handles information.
1. No Registration Required for Core Features
The App’s core record-management functions generally do not require an account.
Unless you choose to use Google Drive backup or another optional feature that expressly requires account authorization, you do not need to provide your real name, email address, or telephone number to use the main functions.
Information you create or enter may include:
Beetle names and container codes
Species, variety, scientific name, sex, and lifecycle stage
Acquisition, hatching, pupation, eclosion, dormancy, death, and sale dates
Weight, length, and growth records
Substrate replacement, feeding, and maintenance records
Pairing, breeding, egg-laying, egg collection, and hatching records
Parent, external-parent, and lineage information
Income, expenses, and other financial records
Notes, timelines, and custom content
Beetle and growth-record photographs
Notification, display, and App settings
Identifiers used to generate QR labels
Locally exported backup data
This information is stored locally on your device by default. The Studio does not obtain, browse, or analyze your private husbandry records or photos merely because you use the local functions.
3. Photos, Camera, and QR Codes
When you add a beetle or growth-record image, the App may request photo-library access.
Photos are used only for actions you initiate, such as adding an individual photo, recording growth, importing or exporting data, or sharing or saving a QR-label image.
The App does not scan your entire photo library without an action initiated by you.
When you use QR scanning, the App requests camera access. Camera images are processed to identify GlimmerSoil QR labels.
Unless you separately choose to capture or save an image, QR scan frames are not stored as photographs or uploaded to a server operated by the Studio.
A GlimmerSoil QR label may include:
Do not publicly share a QR label containing information that you wish to keep private.
If you enable maintenance reminders, the App may use system notification permissions and schedule reminders locally.
A notification may contain a beetle name, container code, maintenance item, due date, or overdue status.
Notification processing is primarily performed by your device’s operating system. The Studio does not receive the full contents of local notifications merely because this feature is enabled.
Other persons with access to your lock screen may see notification previews. You may disable notifications through the App or device settings.
5. Google Drive Cloud Backup
Where available, Google Drive cloud backup is optional. It requires you to sign in to a Google Account and grant the requested permissions.
The App is intended to use an App-specific Google Drive storage area, such as appDataFolder, and to request only the access needed for backup and restoration.
A backup may include:
Beetle profiles
Growth records
Maintenance tasks
Breeding records
Financial records
Parent and lineage information
Timeline data
Photos and photo indexes
Notification and App settings
Other local data necessary for complete restoration
The backup is stored in your own Google Account and Google Drive space. It is not uploaded to a server operated by the Studio solely because you use cloud backup.
Google authorization data
To provide cloud backup, the App may process:
Google authorization status
OAuth access tokens or related authorization data
Basic account-identification information provided within the authorized scope
Backup file identifiers, creation times, and modification times
This information is used only to display sign-in status, upload backups, list backups created by the App, download and restore backups, delete App-created backups, and sign out or revoke authorization.
The App’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
The Studio does not:
Sell Google user data
Use Google Drive backups for advertising
Provide Google user data to data brokers
Read Drive files unrelated to GlimmerSoil backups
Use Google data to build advertising profiles
Transfer the information to third parties for unauthorized purposes
Exceptions may apply where necessary to provide a feature expressly requested by the user, protect security, prevent abuse, comply with lawful obligations, or use service providers under protections permitted by Google policy.
6. Credentials and Secure Storage
Google OAuth tokens and other sensitive authorization data should be stored through secure device-storage mechanisms and should not be written in plain text into general husbandry records or backup files.
The Studio will never ask you to provide your Google password to the App or customer support.
7. Third-Party Technologies
The App may use:
Google Sign-In
Google Drive API
Expo
React Native
Operating-system notification services
Camera, photo, and file-picker services
Google Play Services or Apple system services
Third parties may process necessary technical data under their own privacy policies. The Studio does not control every aspect of third-party processing.
8. No Sale of Personal Data
The Studio does not sell or rent your beetle records, photographs, Google Account information, or cloud-backup contents.
The App currently does not enable advertising services and does not use husbandry data for personalized advertising.
If advertising, analytics, accounts, or other features materially change how data is processed, this Privacy Policy and related disclosures will be updated before those features are enabled.
Local data is generally retained until you delete it, clear App data, uninstall the App, or reset or replace your device.
Google Drive backups remain in your Google Account until you delete them through the App, your Google Account settings, or tools provided by Google.
Customer-support communications may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve requests, comply with law, and prevent abuse.
10. Deletion and Revocation
You may manage local data by deleting records within the App, using any available data-clearing function, clearing App data, or uninstalling the App.
You may manage Google Drive access and data by using any cloud-backup deletion function available in the App, revoking the App’s access from your Google Account, or deleting related application data through Google.
Deleting local data does not necessarily delete existing cloud backups. Revoking authorization also may not automatically delete backup files already stored in Google Drive.
The Studio takes reasonable measures to reduce the risks of unauthorized access, loss, or misuse.
However, no device, network, operating system, Google Account, third-party service, or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure or free from data loss.
We recommend protecting your device and Google Account, enabling two-step verification, maintaining local backups, verifying cloud-backup status, and avoiding sharing backup files with untrusted persons.
The App is not designed to intentionally collect personal information from children.
Minors should obtain parental or guardian consent before using Google Sign-In or cloud backup. Please contact the Studio if you believe a minor has provided personal information without valid consent.
13. International Processing
When you use Google or another international third-party service, necessary information may be processed in countries or regions outside your own.
Such processing is governed by the third party’s policies, contractual safeguards, and applicable law.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in features, laws, third-party services, or data-processing practices.
Material changes may be announced through the App, the app-store listing, or our official channels. Where law requires renewed consent, we will follow the applicable requirements.
