What Can This App Do For You?

QuietSea is a dedicated marine aquarium management tool designed to help you log water parameters, track maintenance schedules, organize livestock and equipment data, view historical timelines, and utilize reef calculators.

If you are using the app for the first time, we highly recommend completing the following steps:

Recommended Workflow for First-Time Users

1. Select or Add an Aquarium

The tank switcher bar is located at the bottom of the screen. Tap a tank name to switch the currently managed aquarium; tap "Add New Tank" to set up a brand new profile.

Long-press any tank name to view its Info Card, edit its name, or manage its underlying data.

2. Set the Tank Start Date

The main dashboard displays the total elapsed days since your aquarium started running. Tap the "Husbandry Milestone" section to set or modify your initial setup date. This helps track your tank's maturity over time.

3. Upload Aquarium Photos

You can upload photos of your main tank in the media section of the dashboard. Photos will be displayed in a carousel format, making it easy to review your tank's visual history.

4. Add Maintenance Tasks

You can create routine maintenance schedules at the bottom of the main dashboard, such as:

Each task can be configured with a custom recurrence cycle (in days). The app will display alerts on the dashboard when a task is due or upcoming.

5. Configure Notification Settings

Tap "Notification Settings" on the main dashboard to set your preferred daily reminder time. Once enabled, the app will push a local notification at the specified time to remind you of pending tasks.

6. Log Your First Water Parameters

Go to the "Water Parameters" section and log your current numbers. We highly recommend testing and recording at least these core metrics for the first time:

Parameter

Description

Ca

Calcium

Mg

Magnesium

KH

Carbonate Hardness / Alkalinity

NO3

Nitrate

PO4

Phosphate

Salinity / S.G.

Salt concentration / Specific Gravity of your saltwater

Every subsequent log will contribute to an automated trend line chart, helping you visualize long-term water stability.

7. Create Livestock & Equipment Profiles

Navigate to the "Livestock & Equipment" tab to keep inventory logs:

Calculator Disclaimer

The built-in calculators are mathematical conversion tools designed for concentration and dosage estimations. Always verify configurations against actual product labels and your specific tank conditions before dosing chemicals.

Chemical Treatment Warning: This calculator provides raw chemical concentration conversions for reference only. Before adding any chemical supplements into your aquarium, cross-verify manufacturer labelings and consult experienced professionals.

Data Backup Recommendations

To prevent data loss during phone migrations or app updates, navigate to System Settings and use the "Backup Data" tool to export a local ZIP file containing your database and photos. Always review the data summary details before performing a restore.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Why can't I see my virtual pet?

Go to Settings and check if "Enable Pet" is toggled on. The pet companion will temporarily hide whenever the keyboard, popup modals, or settings drawers are active.

Why is there no "Back to Home" button on the screen?

You can manually enable this navigation option by toggling "Show Interface Back Button" inside System Settings.

Where are completed maintenance tasks recorded?

When you mark a task complete, the app updates its "Last Completed Date" and automatically logs a corresponding event timestamp directly to your Timeline.

Are lighting or dosing adjustments tracked historically?

Yes! You can append active records for lighting fixtures or dosing outputs inside the Water Parameters module. Any additions, updates, or deletions to these schedules will sync directly to the Timeline for easy tracking.
