Anytime you play your instrument outside of school can count as practicing. You can, and should, work on the following things:
Technique - long tones, scales, arpeggios, articulation exercises, the Norfleet Packet, etc.
Ensemble Music - the music you are playing in your band class
Solo Literature - etudes, studies, solos, concertos, etc. This can include things like movie and pop music books. We have *lots* of solos, etude books, pop books, and more at OHS. Talk to the Band Director to borrow some of these resources!
Chamber Music - Music you and a small group of students are working on outside of classtime. This includes duets, trios, quartets, etc. Chamber groups will be given additional opportunities to perform throughout the year. Talk to the Band Director for music.
