*Players must be able to demonstrate skill level in addition to succeeding in the audition process. Wind Ensemble players are expected to practice, be at every performance, make it to sectionals and dress rehearsals, and be ambassadors of the band program in the school and community.
This ensemble requires a year long commitment: students are not only expected to be at rehearsals and concerts, but also occassional rehearsals before or after school, sectionals outside of class time, and other performances. Students in Wind Ensemble also prepare a solo and ensemble piece during the year, as well as being available for pep band performances with the Titan Band. Students who join Wind Ensemble should be prepared to practice their music and instrument in preparation for performances.
The Wind Ensemble maintains an active and full performance schedule, requiring students to learn a lot of music. Students in Wind Ensemble must practice regularly outside of school and come to class rehearsals prepared. During class time rehearsals, students are focused and engaged during the entire rehearsal.
The Wind Ensemble is the premier performing ensemble of Olympus High School - this means the students in this ensemble must maintain the highest level of performance and be the examples for the younger bands.
