All students in the OHS Band Program are required to attend at least one performance. This page is a list of musical events that are happening around the area. Many of them are free! Those concerts that are not free have student prices that reduce the price significantly or make it free for students (with your student ID).

We have the *incredible* opportunity to live so close to a professional symphony orchestra right in our backyard. The Utah Symphony Orchestra is a full time professional symphony orcehstra and perform the best works written for orchestra at the highest levels. Students can get incredible prices on tickets and should attend regularly!

Hot House West is the premier jazz organization in the Mountain West. The Swing Orchestra and Swing Collective perform regularly all over the valley. Come listen and dance at one of their next performances!

The Utah Opera is an award winning opera company right here in Salt Lake City. They perform four to five operas per season, all with a live pit orchestra of musicians from the Utah Symphony. Take advantage of this unique opportunity and go see an opera!

The professional ballet scene in Utah is alive and well! While band and ballet are not the same, the music for the Ballet West company is performed by live musicians, all Utah Locals and is always incredible.

The universities in Utah all have great music programs! Check out their websites below. Attend their concerts. Take lessons with the professors and/or the students. Look at what music degrees they offer and music classes they offer for non-music majors.
