Maths Week 2021 was a very enjoyable and busy week in Our Lady of Good Counsel.
4th class participated in activities such as Maths Trails Izak9 cubes, problem solving sessions, Maths TV (Maths Rocks with Andrew Jeffrey), Maths Quiz with Franz Schlindwein and explored hands on real life Maths situations. Izak9 proved to be a favourite among the senior classes.
6th Class explored the school grounds with a Maths Trail and took part in Izak9 cube problem solving activities.
Junior infants took part in many activities such as a Maths Trail, working with 2D shapes, counting beads, sorting coloured animals and they were very creative forming numbers with acorns and integrating Halloween into their Maths.
5th class learned about weight and capacity by having their very own '5th Class Bake Off' and ended up with very tasty results! They also explored square numbers and Izak9 cubes.
3rd class used hands on materials to investigate and solve problems based on place value, 2D shapes, time and tested themselves with a Mini Quiz.
Senior Infants took part in a Maths Trail and played Maths games using materials such as cubes and number / bingo cards.
