Materials

6th class created 'Ice - cream in a Bag' by exploring change of state of matter, liquid to solid and solid to liquid. The girls used their knowledge of Changes of State, to change liquids (milk and cream) to solid (ice-cream). Very tasty results!

4th Class investigated the characteristics of different materials when wet and dry. They discussed and tested out materials on water and decided on the types of materials that would be best suited for constructing a boat that floats. When testing out their boats 4th class also added passengers (domino blocks) to see if their boat could take weight.

Senior Infants were given the task of 'Making a Coat for Teddy'. They investigated materials such as tinfoil, clingfilm, kitchen paper, rubber gloves and a J-cloth. They used a spoonful of water to make it a fair test and voted on which material they think is best for Teddy's Coat. Super work!
