During my last two years of college, I worked as a Scenic Painter in the paint shop at The Theatre School. This job involved painting on a wide variety of surfaces, mixing/matching colors accurately, creating faux wood, metal, and brick treatments, sealing all work for the stage, and referencing scenic paint renderings.
Because of my experience as a painter, I am able to better budget for paint in my cost out estimates, as well as collaborate smoothly with scenic colleagues because I understand and appreciate their work at a deeper level.
