Knife Stab Effect

For this production, I was Props Director and had to figure out a safe but realistic looking stab effect for a steak knife into a character's back. I decided for safety reasons, the stabbing couldn't actually happen onstage, so the character is chased offstage with a realistic knife, then comes back on with a bloody back and knife handle sticking out of his back.

I worked with the costumes team to incorporate a magnetic plate underneath the actor's costume, and created a handle to stick onto it. When he is backstage being "stabbed", the crew pops blood packets and sticks the knife on.
