The purpose of this chapter is to outline the expectations, standards, and general conduct required of all members of the San Andreas State Police (SASP).
All members of the SASP are expected to uphold standards of professionalism.
Respect & Courtesy: Officers must treat all individuals with respect.
Composure: Officers must maintain a professional demeanor, even in stressful situations.
Public Image: Officers represent the SASP at all times and must conduct themselves in a manner that upholds the department’s reputation.
Accountability: Members must take responsibility for their actions and decisions, both individually and collectively as part of the department.
The following principles define the ethical obligations of all SASP personnel:
Integrity: Officers must be honest and truthful in all matters. Engaging in corruption, deception, or dishonesty will result in disciplinary action.
Impartiality: All law enforcement actions must be taken without bias. Officers must enforce the law equally and fairly.
Confidentiality: Sensitive information obtained during the course of duty must not be disclosed to unauthorized individuals.
Duty to Report: Officers have a responsibility to report any misconduct, illegal activity, or violations of department policies to their chain of command.
