This year, we will be prioritizing work on three key features from last year's design sprint. These features are based on the research and direct student feedback, each grounded in addressing student pain points:
1) building a more dynamic, filterable map of NYU locations
2) sharing key administrative calendar events on students’ calendars, and
3) sending selective push reminders of key administrative deadlines for students.
In the coming months, we will test these features using existing tools and platforms, to help us refine data and systems needs while exploring longer-term opportunities across NYU. We will also partner with NYU's Usability Lab on ongoing student feedback throughout the process. Stay up-to-date with our regularly updated Progress Reports.
As one co-design participant noted: "A fractured student experience mirrors a fractured administrative culture." Based on reflections and observations from staff and faculty, we are trying new ways of collaborating across NYU, to ensure that we create the conditions in which students can thrive.
We continue to refine, expand, and build upon the ways the research and design principles are being leveraged to inform or support key initiatives across the university. Learn more about the specific examples of current and past projects that have been informed by the research and design principles.
