Special Ad Hoc Committees are created by the President to fill a need the current committees do not specialize in. Ad Hoc Committees are also generally short-term committees, sometimes only working during a biennium.

The NYSO DKG Chapter President Handbook Committee is a special, temporary (ad hoc) group designated by the State President as authorized. Its purpose is to develop a President’s Handbook for use at the Chapter level. When the committee submits its final report to the body that authorized its formation, it will be dissolved. The committee’s objective is to produce a handbook that current and incoming presidents will find clear, practical, and helpful in fulfilling their duties.
Committee Responsibilities
Investigate and present the responsibilities of the Chapter President in a straightforward and accessible format.
Convene as necessary to complete the assigned task.
Complete the project within an appropriate timeframe. Committee Goals
Develop a concise reference document for Chapter Presidents.
Encourage Chapter members to pursue leadership roles by providing a useful and approachable resource.
Support vital documents by including helpful links.
Offer an annual outline for agendas, meetings, and opportunities at the state and international levels.

This committee is tasked with accepting, sorting, filing the historical documents, past newsletters such as Pi Lights, and various materials from all past state presidents, plus binders from State Conventions, state meeting minutes, state treasurers records and vouchers. In addition, the committee accepts all paraphernalia from dissolved chapters along with any records from said chapters. We can assist in returning their chapter charters. We also store and transport to meetings such equipment as easels, screens, lcd projectors, sound equipment and any other requested tech equipment for state meetings.
Committee Responsibilities
● Meet as needed to file, sort and store materials
● Report periodically to the state president and the Executive Board
● Receive all required items from dissolved chapters
● Provide an organized repository for state officers and for chapters who need information from Headquarters
Goals
● To properly store all inventory in an orderly way
● To communicate with the officers and membership when information is requested and provide up to date information on the status of all stored equipment
● To provide requested information to members when possible
● To organize the physical units to provide an efficient and tidy workspace

The NYSO DKG Excellent Presentations Ad Hoc Committee is responsible for developing criteria to be used when awarding stipends to NYSO DKG members for presenting at state- sponsored in-person and virtual events. The committee includes the NYSO DKG President, Finance Chair, Educational Excellence Chair and Editor.
Goals
● Develop criteria for awarding stipends to DKG members who serve as workshop presenters or Keynote speakers at state sponsored in-person and virtual Executive Board meetings/Seminars and Conventions
● Criteria will be reviewed by the NYSO Finance Committee, EEC, and Executive Committee prior to presenting to the NYSO Executive Board for approval at the NYSO DKG Executive Board meeting and Seminar in April 2026.
