We are 90 years old in 2026. On April 18, 1936, fourteen women met in New York City to organize Pi State which later became NYSO. This was just seven years after the founding of DKG International by Annie Webb Blanton. We thank our founding members- Katherine Blake, R. Louise Fitch, Lolabel Hall, Ruth Mack Havens, Grace C. Hoberg, Ida A. Jewett, Elizabeth McDowell, Pauline A. Meyer, Catherine W. Peltz, Alice A. Pierce, Lizzie Rector, Mary A. Sheehan, Ruth Stewart and Dorothy D. Thatcher. Just a year later on April 10, 1937, our first chapter- Alpha- in the Eastern Area was formed.Â
