Mission of the Pi State Educational Foundation
The mission of the Pi State Educational Foundation is to encourage educational excellence by promoting and supporting special projects and scholarships related to learning and literacy.
About the Pi State Educational Foundation
The Pi State Educational Foundation is a non-profit foundation registered by the State of New York and approved as a 501(c) (3) Corporation by the Internal Revenue Service. It offers members the opportunity to make tax-deductible donations. Lifetime membership in the Educational Foundation is $25. Donations may be made at any time by an individual, group or Chapter(s).
Donations assist DKG sisters and Chapters in their efforts to promote literacy in their classrooms and communities. Any member of the Foundation may apply for grants that support Application due dates are November 1 and May 1 for the Pi State Foundation Project Grants. Forms for the Pi State Foundation Literacy Scholarships are due February 15. Forms to join the Foundation and to donate to the Foundation as well as grant applications may be found below.
Goals of Directors of Pi State Educational Foundation
1. To manage the Foundation in accordance with Internal Revenue rules and regulations and NYS tax laws
2. To inform New York State Organization members of the opportunity to join and donate to the Foundation
3. To offer Foundation members the opportunity to apply for grants and scholarships that promote literacy and learning
4. To award Foundation members grants that meet the criteria for literacy and learning when funding is available
5. To hold an Annual Meeting at the Spring Executive Board or State Convention

NYSO members can contribute to the Pi State Educational Foundation through donations, including donations in honor or in memory of members.

Membership is life-long.
Pi State Educational Foundation members may apply for a scholarship to attend college courses, workshops, conventions, seminars, trainings and/or conferences to further their literacy education and knowledge. Literacy can be cross-curricular.
