Be above the age of 18.
Currently a student(full-time undergraduate or graduate student) enrolled in a school that collaborates with the Huayu BEST Program.
š¤Collaborating Institutions
Does not have a R.O.C. citizenship and does not possess an overseas Chinese student status at the time of their application.
Is not currently a registered student at a Mandarin training center, nor has been a degree-seeking student at any university or college in Taiwan.
Is not simultaneously a recipient of any other scholarship or subsidy offered by other government agency or any other educational institutions in Taiwan.
BEST Program for the long-term scholarship(ICLP/CLD):
The awarded student shall receive a monthly scholarship of NT $25,000 (approx. US $800) during their attendance in the program.Ā
Students must read and adhere to the Scholarship guidelines.
The amount of scholarship received depends on the length of the period: one or multiple quarter-long courses (9-12 weeks) at ICLP or CLD. Dates of attendance will depend on which quarter the student selects to enroll in.Ā
The awarded student must open a bank account in Taiwan. The scholarship will be directly transferred to that account monthly with passed attendance.
The Scholarship will be suspended for one month if the recipient has missed 20% or more of their language course (including excused absences) within a single month.Ā
Students are required to activate the overseas withdrawals feature for the ATM card to ensure that they can received their last month scholarship after leaving Taiwan.Ā
BEST Program for the short-term scholarship(NTU Plus Academy):
The awarded student shall receive a scholarship of NT$6,000 (approx. US $200) per week for the duration of their attendance in the program.
Students should enroll in the NTU Plus Academy - Chinese Language and Culture program.
The awarded student shall physically arrive in Taiwan and check in with the BEST program team before receiving the scholarship.
