Andrew won his second NSL championship in the second year of the league. He went undefeated in week 1, dropped 2 in week 2, and had a forfeit loss to Wilson in week 3 because he wanted to save time and the seeds were already set. He had a much more dominant offense than year 1, and he used this to win in the playoffs, 4-0, 3-2 and 3-1. Home Stadium - Yoshi Park (Night)
Joe took 2nd place in year 2 after losing in the first round in 2022. He had a rough week 1, going 1-2 but then never looked back. Winning 6 of his last 7, only losing to Andrew in week 3. He had a 14 inning win against Carston in round 1, a 9 inning win against Jacob in round 2, then fell to Andrew in the championship. Home Stadium - Peach Ice Garden (Day)
Matt, in his first season of NSL, turned some heads. Defeating Joe week 1 and giving Andrew a challenge, he boosted up in the polls. The rest of the season he stayed around .500. He defeated Garrett in round 1 on the famous King K Rool 7th inning walkoff. His season came to an end in the semifinals where he just barely lost to Andrew 3-2. Home Stadium - Bowser Jr. Playroom
Jacob, the 2022 runner-up, had high standards for 2023. He started off with solid weeks 1 + 2, at 4-2 leading Day. Then he lost 3 during week 3, and then purposely lost to Wilson, so he could face his rival Will in the first round, and get off Andrew's side of the bracket. He beat Will in a quick 1-0 ballgame. He would fall to Joe in extras of the semifinals after giving up 3 in the top of the 9th. Home Stadium - DK Jungle (Day)
Will looks to do better in the regular season and continue some postseason success in his second season. He started the season 2-1, then had a big win over Andrew over in week 2, just to lose that night, to a 1-2 Joe. He finished 6-4 and had the 3 seed. He lost to Jacob 1-0 in the first round. Home Stadium - Mario Stadium (Day)
Garrett who usually is around the middle of the pack stayed right there this season. His key regular season moment was a win against Andrew. He could've been placed higher had he not lost to the 7 seed Carston twice. He lost in the first round of the playoffs to Matt 1-0 after King K Rool's walkoff. Home Stadium - Luigi's Mansion
Carston obtained the 2nd seed in the first season, with high hopes for season 2. However, he could not perform as well as he did year 1. With a 4-6 regular season record, he took 7th seed. He fell to Joe in round 1 in a 14 inning game ending 1-0. Home Stadium - Mario Stadium (Night)
Wilson looks to transition from vertical Wii Remote to Nunchuk but it doesn't turn out to be the best decision. He fails to win a single game the first two weeks, his draft didn't help him much. He won two games in week 3 because of a thrown game and a forfeit. He lost to Andrew in round 1 4-0. Home Stadium - DK Jungle (Night)

Spring Training
A few games were played with no real meaning directly following the draft.
Week 1
Week 1 started off with two of the more rivalry matchups of the league, Jacob vs. Will and Garrett vs. Carston. The bigger upset this week is Joe's relatively poor start, 1-2 with a win over Wilson. Matt, the newcomer, plays solid ball to start his NSL career.
Standings
Night Division - Andrew 3-0, Carston 1-2, Garrett 1-2, Wilson 0-3
Day Division - Jacob 2-1, Will 2-1, Matt 2-1, Joe 1-2
Week 2
Week 2 was an odd one, split into two different days due to availability. On day 1, Andrew suffered losses to Garrett and Will, but also beat Garrett. Jacob won on a walkoff homerun in the 14th inning to beat Will, 3-1. Will, all hype about a win over top dog Andrew, had to return to the playing field later that night for a primetime game against the 1-2 Joe, who had a 4 hour car ride directly before the game to prepare himself for a much better week 2. Joe won that game and his other 2 that week. Carston and Wilson had 2 thriller games, and Matt went a poor 1-2.
Night Division - Andrew 4-2, Carston 3-3, Garrett 3-3, Wilson 0-6
Day Division - Jacob 4-2, Joe 4-2, Matt 3-3, Will 3-3
Week 3
Week 3, the proclaimed "Big Sunday" with the most games played. A lot of playoff seeding on the line. Andrew went 3-1 (forfeit to Wilson to not waste time for seeds already decided), Joe went 3-1 with the loss to Andrew. Garrett was able to go 2-2, and so was Matt. Will was able to go 3-1, with his only loss to Joe. Carston went 1-3, taking one from Garrett. Wilson went 2-2 (for wins see above and below). Jacob lost his first 3, then purposely lost to Wilson to a) be able to face his rival, Will, in the first round, and b) get off Andrew's side of the bracket.
Night Division - Andrew 7-3, Garrett 5-5, Carston 4-6, Wilson 2-8
Day Division - Joe 7-3, Will 6-4, Matt 5-5, Jacob 4-6
Playoffs
1 seed Andrew fought off 8 seed Wilson quite easily. 4 seed Garrett fell to 5 seed Matt on a walkoff homerun in the bottom of the 7th inning. 2 seed Joe was able to take down 7 seed Carston after 14 innings. 3 seed Will could not score on 6 seed Jacob who took that one. Andrew and Matt had a thriller playoff game ending 3-2 in Andrew's favor. Joe and Jacob went two extra innings until Joe put 3 runs up and Jacob couldn't respond. Andrew took a 3-0 lead in the championship which was cut down when he allowed Blue Toad to hit a home run by pitching straight every pitch. Final score ending 3-1. The all star game was a battle, last over 40 minutes, 22 innings, capped off by a King Boo home run to win 2-1 for the Day Division.
