I must admit I do feel kind of weird reviwing a french book in english but please bear with me. This particular book was recommended to me by my french teacher after I sent him a really explicit email saying how I received a Kindle for Christmas and would want nothing more than to read in french now (yes. I am a kiss ass, sorry). He then sent me a reply with the attached files of a few books in french that I should check out. This is the first one I picked out after simply reading the title and thinking it would be a good crime novel ("Les identités meurtrieres - The murderous identities). Alas, it wasn't. Turns out this book is a quite in depth analysis of the term "nationality" and "nation" and how it affects everyone and in what ways. It talks about our sense of belonging in the world and how we associate those terms with it. At some point they talk about how this term of belonging in our countries and society could potentially lead to violence, agression and eventually murder.
I found this book quite interesting, as I already said, I love psychology books and reading about these things. The subject of the book was also quite interesting and I genuinely had fun reading it.
Do I recommend it? Perhaps, I am not sure it is a book for everyone, as not many people, in my opinion would be too interested in it, but if it sounds interesting to you, feel free to look it up, as I'm pretty sure there is a translated version in english.
Star rating: I'd say about 3 stars.
