Now onto some mystery!! Agatha Christie is perhaps one of the most famous crime mystery writers, and we all know Hercule Poirot (at least I hope you do if you're reading this). Hercule Poirot, the amazing, unbeatable detective who can solve any crime. He does not disappoint in this book either. At the beginning he seems to be on a nice little vacation, which sadly takes a sharp turn and becomes a murder investigation. As you could guess by the title, it does take place in Egypt when the rich and successful socialite Linett Doyle is mysteriously murdered in her cabin on a boat ride along the river Nile. But who killed her? Was it her greedy maid? Was it her ex friend, seeking revenge after Linett stole her precious boyfriend? Was it her husband? No, he was badly injured. Was she killed because of her pearls? Was it intended to be a robbery and not an actual murder? Where are the pearls now? In this book, as always Christie turns the story so creatively, that I honestly had no idea who the real killer was up until the page where it was discovered. I feel like in every one of her books, at least the ones I read, she somehow manages to always come up with some brilliant turn of the story that no one actually expected.
Read this book and trust me it will have you guessing the whole time. If you love any type of crime books, this is a winner for sure and will feed your mystery intrigued mind.
Star rating: I have to give this book a good four stars, I don't really see anything bad about it, I guess it's just not that extraordinary to receive five stars, or maybe because Agatha has written so many books with Hercule, that a single one can't be deemed as remarkable.
"Love can be a very frightening thing." "That is why most great love stories are tragedies."
