The Incredible Crash Dummies were a line of action figures produced by Tyco Toys from 1990-1994 and were created by David McDonald and Jim Byrne. The toy line was based on a series of PSAs aired on TV during the late 1980s. After Mattel acquired Tyco Toys in 1998, they released another set of action figures.
The action figures would often have removable limbs, spinning heads, and/or “bug-out” features (eyes, tongue, and ears).
Many different vehicles were released as part of the toy line including cars, plane, motorcycles, ATV, Go Kart, lawn mower, dirt digger and cannon.
A crash test center playset and junkyard playset were also part of the toy line.
On May 1, 1993, a 30-minute animated television special was aired on Fox Kids. Video games and comic books were also produced.
Characters in the line include:
1990-1994 (Tyco)
Larry, Vince, Daryl, Spare Tire, Skid the Kid, Hubcat (cat), Bumper (dog), Slick, Spin, Bull, Chip, Dent, and Ted.
1998 (Mattel)
