Poland Mobility
No Obstacle, No Boundaries project partners held their second meeting in Poland, from 24th to 28th February 2019. The meeting was hosted by Szkoła Podstawowa nr 41im. Jana Matejki in Częstochowa, Poland.
During the project the following activities were realised:
Day 1
- school visit, performance of the school drama group, attending an example of an integration class lesson
- visits to the City Office in Częstochowa and historical parts of the city by the double decker bus,
Day 2
- visit to the Jasna Góra Monastery in Częstochowa
- thematic workshops: creating souvenir t-shirts; Erasmus + exhibition of students works,
creating MARTYNICA bracelets, typical Bulgarian souvenirs
On 25th February 2019 the Polish team organised English class for the partners of the project Erasmus+ “ No Obstacles. No Boundaries”
The objective of the classes was to show the teachers and the students from other European countries the way of conducting classes for the children with special educational needs in Poland.
Our guests had the opportunity to observe special needs teaching assistant’s methods of work and supporting children. Students from partner countries participated in English classes and they could introduce themselves to students and teachers from other partner countries. . They also improved the ability of cooperation in pairs, they revised grammar and developed communication skills in English. During the classes information and communication technologies such as interactive digital whiteboard and Power Point presentation were used.
The effects of the classes :
- the presentation of the Polish education system to the partner countries, - students’ and teachers’ from partner countries integration and cooperation, - improving communication skills in English, - teaching tolerance and understanding towards special education needs children, - involving students and the teaching staff in the project tasks, - sharing the methods of work among teachers from partner countries.
Day 3
- all day trip to Krakow and Wieliczka Salt Mine, getting familiar with Polish culture, history and Geography.
Day 4
- visit to the special education centre, gaining knowledge about Polish special educational needs schooling system and the ways of teaching and working with children and youth requiring special educational needs.
- team building workshops, preparatory activities towards common performing of the silent play in the form of the shadow theatre
- On 28 February 2019 the partner schools of the Erasmus+ Project : “ No Obstacles, No Boundaries” visited The Special Education Childcare Center in Częstochowa
They had the opportunity to gain knowledge about Polish special educational needs schooling system. The teachers of the Center presented the ways of teaching and working with children and youth requiring special educational needs.
The partner schools were informed that the teachers at the Centre vary their teaching styles and choose curricula, teaching aids and materials to meet the needs of their students. The school provides psychological and pedagogical support, a specific organization of education and appropriate working methods.
What is more, the students at the Centre are given various forms of stimulation, rehabilitation and therapy tailored to their developmental needs.
The teaching staff showed the guests the classrooms, they answered numerous questions concerning the working methods with children with SEN.
The partner schools could analyse the similarities and the differences among the European special educational needs schooling systems, they could share the experience and the methods of work as pedagogues. They had the opportunity to exchange their views with other teachers from the partner countries. All of these activities raised their professional qualifications which has a positive influence on the teaching process.
The project partners had the opportunity to get to know each other better during project meetings, visits and discussions. The partners held discussions regarding the implementation of the project, decided the common rules of the partnership, revised and shared the tasks for each project partner. There were workshops to discuss the aims, development and plans for the following meetings. The topics related to the exchange of teaching/learning experiences in various educational systems were a key part of the meeting. All the activities aimed at improving social life skills and developing the awareness of belonging to the EU community.
In conclusion, the second meeting in Częstochowa, Poland was successful, the participants took part in joint ventures, shared opinions and experiences as well as worked together on the projects issues. All project partners consider that the objectives of the second meeting were achieved.
