Hello, we are Owen and Ari and are in 8th grade. We have been attending New Life Academy since we have been in 6th grade. For this years 15% IP we decided that we should develop a website that would allow students to order drinks and food ahead from the school's cafe. There is a common problem that we often find ourselves and our fellow classmates in. Students will order from the cafe but not make it back to class on time because the cafe is busy. This causes a lot of frustration with students who feel that it is not fair to get marked late when they have ordered multiple minutes before their brake ends. Some students may not order at all because of the line, which reduces the money made by the cafe.

Questions Judges Might Ask

Q. Why do you think students or staff would use an order ahead website for the Cafe?

A. We observe everyone wanting to be more efficient, especially in the world we live in today. Teenagers and young adults are always on the go and are becoming use to having things quickly. Our survey showed that a order ahead option would be greatly appreciated.

Q. Could the Cafe handle multiple order ahead orders all at once?

A. We believe that a order ahead option would actually benefit the Cafe. Instead of having a large group of students line up all at once, they would be getting orders more spread out and have time to prepare.

Q. How do they pay for their order?

A. We still need to discuss a payment option for the order ahead website. Right now students would need to pay when they pick up their order.
