A team from UNIDO’s Montreal Protocol Division led by Fukuya IINO, Industrial Development Officer, visited the Nidec Global Appliance-Embraco plant in Spišska Nová Ves, #Slovakia.
The team held discussions with Nidec representatives on the trends in the refrigeration industry, the use of natural refrigerant gases, energy efficient products and their critical role in addressing the climate challenges.
The members also explored opportunities for promoting climate friendly refrigerants with matching #Refrigeration and #Airconditioning equipment (including compressors) in developing countries.
UNIDO is committed to providing and promoting sustainable cooling solutions to its member states.
It is vital to strengthen #partnerships with various #stakeholders, including Nidec-Embraco to promote environmental-friendly technologies in our priority area of #ClimateAction, in line with the goals of the #KigaliAmendment to the #MontrealProtocol and the #ParisAgreement.
As a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact--the largest corporate #sustainability initiative in the world—Nidec has committed itself to upholding the Ten Principles and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (#SDGs).
