With the notion of home/ work automation being previously reserved for the wealthy or found on the big screen, it's astonishing that in 2023 we can buy and use this once deemed futuristic technology, relatively easily. Not only that, but these automations may just be the ticket to giving, and creating more free time.

This blog will look to discover what automation means in the 21st century.

'Leading research and advisory agency Gartner stated that 2022 will be the year of the automation surge. With 80% of organizations indicating they will continue to, and/or increase their spending on automation. Branching into sectors such as smart homes, security, software, and production. Automation was brought about to make life easier for humans.

Applied Motion Systems, a systems integrator and machine builder in Vancouver, WA, has deployed a number of servo positioning systems that operate in vacuum environments, including aerospace ion beam welding systems and casting mold positioning systems. In order to prevent damage to the motor and extend its life the voltage applied must be controlled to levels below the application’s Corona Inception Voltage (CIV), a value derived from the pressure and composition of surrounding air.

Despite the challenges of deploying a casting mold servo positioning system in a vacuum environment, Applied Motion Systems was able to do just that with a high degree of confidence thanks to the flexibility and reliability of Control Techniques Unidrive M700 drives.
