For many, even one sober day can feel impossible. Hearing someone share about having walked that same path, and found a way to live sober through it— can make all the difference and help in making the choice to keep coming back and not go back out.
Your story might be what helps someone truly understand that they’re not alone. It might be what gives them the hope to believe that recovery is not only possible, but worth it. Sharing is more than an act of service — it’s a gift to your own recovery.
Each time we speak from experience, strength, and hope, we carry the message of hope and recovery. It keeps us close to our sobriety, to the Fellowship, and to the spiritual principles that guide us in our A.A. program. It reminds the room how far we’ve come, how much it took to get back — and how much we’ve been given.
Hearing your story could be the turning point in someone else’s. This is why the act of speaking our stories from one alcoholic to another is so important — you never know who’s waiting to hear the hope that only you can offer by being willing to share.
The Never Alone Again Group (NAAG) maintains a structured Speaker Schedule to help ensure that each of our 21 weekly AA meetings provides a safe, welcoming, and consistent space for all.
The following guidelines are intended to support our group conscience and ensure a safe, consistent, and welcoming environment for all—especially newcomers.
Before submitting a request:
