Role Responsibilities and Expectations:
The Host is responsible for facilitating NAAG meetings in a safe, welcoming, and organized environment, following the Host script and group guidelines to ensure smooth operation and adherence to AA principles.
Responsibilities include:
Reviewing the NAAG Host Training Guide prior to the first meeting and participating in a Host Training Tutorial with the Secretary or Alternate Secretary.
Opening the meeting 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time for fellowship and preparation.
Creating a safe and welcoming meeting space, ensuring all members feel comfortable and supported.
Scheduling and confirming speakers for each meeting and ensuring a speaker is present each week.
Building the service team by coordinating with members to fill roles such as Poster, Newcomer Liaison Contact (NCL), and Greeter.
Facilitating the meeting according to the Host script, including:
Reading housekeeping items.
Welcoming newcomers and visitors, inviting introductions.
Introducing the NCL to the group.
Introducing the speaker and reminding them of Speaker Guidelines.
Calling on participants to share in alignment with the speaker’s topic.
Closing the meeting according to the script.
Reintroducing the NCL and assigning Zoom Host duties prior to departure.
Coordinating with other service positions to ensure continuity, organization, and effective group operations.
Serving as a role model for accountability, punctuality, and adherence to AA traditions.
Using the Host role as an opportunity to strengthen personal recovery, reinforce scheduling and organizational skills, and support the NAAG fellowship.

Role Responsibilities and Expectations:
The Co-Host / Poster is responsible for supporting the smooth operation of NAAG meetings by managing chat interactions, posting approved scripts, and assisting the Host in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.
Responsibilities include:
Reviewing the Co-Host/Poster Training Guide prior to starting service and participating in a training tutorial with the Secretary or Alternate Secretary.
Logging into the meeting 10 minutes prior to the start time to prepare and coordinate with the Host.
Posting scripted messages in the meeting chat according to the approved Co-Host/Poster Script available under “Meeting Scripts” on the NAAG website.
Requesting volunteers to read designated Alcoholics Anonymous literature aloud during the meeting.
Monitoring the chat and responding to messages or disruptions in alignment with group conscience guidelines, helping to maintain a safe and supportive meeting environment.
Supporting the Host and other service positions in creating a welcoming and organized meeting experience.
Ensuring continuity and adherence to NAAG’s Twelve Traditions and group policies throughout the meeting.

Must be actively working with an AA Sponsor.
Role Responsibilities and Expectations:
The Newcomer Liaison serves as a welcoming and supportive presence for newcomers, providing guidance, connecting them with resources, and assisting them in navigating their first meetings while upholding the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Responsibilities include:
Reviewing and acknowledging the NAAG Newcomer Liaison Training Guide prior to first service.
Introducing themselves at the beginning of the meeting when prompted.
Becoming a Co-Host during the meeting to monitor chat and interact with newcomers.
Facilitating the after-meeting session for at least 15 minutes to answer newcomer questions and provide guidance.
Helping newcomers connect with AA literature and resources (AA.org and NAAG website).
Offering support and understanding without taking responsibility for the newcomer’s sobriety.
Not making phone calls, arranging sponsorship, or providing professional guidance (medical, legal, or mental health).
Supporting a maximum of two NCLs per meeting, with no gender restriction.
Helping newcomers integrate into the fellowship by connecting the dots to achieve and maintain sobriety while adhering to AA principles.
Coordinating with other service positions to ensure newcomers have access to all meeting resources and group guidance.

The Chipmunk leads the Chip Ceremony at the Friday Night Beginner’s Meeting, celebrating members’ recovery milestones. The service brings encouragement, joy, and hope, reminding all that recovery is possible one day at a time.
Responsibilities include:
Before the Meeting
Coordinate with the Friday Night Host and the Chips & Literature Fulfillment Specialist (Tisha L.) to ensure the chip portion runs smoothly.
Familiarize yourself with the chip request process so you can provide information to members who would like a coin mailed to them.
During the Meeting
Attend the Friday Night Beginner’s Meeting and remain on camera.
Lead the Chip Ceremony after the meeting using the approved Chipmunk Script, reading clearly and with enthusiasm.
Celebrate each milestone with warmth, encouragement, and sincerity.
If Unable to Attend
Notify Tisha L. and the Host as soon as possible so that another member can cover the responsibility.

The Bookie facilitates speaker exchanges with other Alcoholics Anonymous groups, managing both incoming and outgoing commitments, and ensuring NAAG remains active in carrying the message of recovery.
Responsibilities include:
Scheduling AA groups to speak at incoming NAAG commitments (Thursdays, 7:30 PM) and organizing NAAG outgoing commitments to other AA meetings via Zoom.
Serving as NAAG’s Commitments representative, liaising with other AA groups to coordinate visits and speaker exchanges.
Maintaining a Commitments Calendar for the current year, including a hard copy planner or similar record of all scheduled commitments.
Providing a draft of the Commitments Calendar to the Bookie Coordinator or Assistant before the start of each month.
Verifying Zoom information for outgoing commitments and connecting to each scheduled meeting before the month begins.
Confirming bookings and coordinating with other AA Bookies as needed throughout the month.
Balancing the schedule of outgoing commitments to maintain NAAG’s active presence in the broader AA community.
Exploring future opportunities for outgoing commitments, including identifying institutions or groups to carry the message of recovery via Zoom.
Coordinating with the Commitments Coordinator and Bookie Coordinator/Assistant for support and guidance as needed.
Ensuring all commitments align with NAAG’s service traditions, mission, and AA principles, carrying the message of experience, strength, and hope to those who are suffering from alcoholism.
Documenting all commitments and maintaining records to support continuity and historical tracking for the group.

The Commitments Coordinator manages NAAG’s incoming and outgoing commitments, ensuring smooth scheduling, communication, and participation while supporting the Bookie, Outgoing Commitments Hosts, and Secretary.
Responsibilities include:
Maintaining the Commitments Calendar by inputting incoming and outgoing commitments provided by the Bookie, including dates, times, Zoom information, and NAAG chair assignments, using the Commitments web forms that feed directly into the NAAG website calendar.
Scheduling Outgoing Commitments Hosts by identifying qualified NAAG members with at least 90 days of continuous sobriety to serve as chairpersons.
Providing guidance and support to Outgoing Commitments Hosts, including emailing the job description and meeting script and answering questions about meeting procedures.
Coordinating with the Secretary and Bookie to announce all outgoing commitments during and after NAAG meetings to encourage member participation.
Ensuring commitments align with NAAG service traditions, meeting guidelines, and Alcoholics Anonymous principles.
Supporting continuity and record-keeping for all NAAG commitments, including documenting participation and feedback from both incoming and outgoing commitments.
Assisting in the planning and execution of special commitment events, including virtual and in-person options, to expand NAAG’s outreach and service efforts.

The GSR serves as NAAG’s primary liaison with the District and Area service structures, representing the group in all matters of General Service while keeping the group informed.
Responsibilities include:
Regularly attending District Meetings and Area Assemblies, acting as NAAG’s voice and vote.
Reporting back to NAAG Business Meetings on developments in General Service, including updates on literature, service materials, and motions from District or Area meetings.
Maintaining accurate group information and providing updates to the District registrar as needed.
Ensuring NAAG remains compliant with District and Area guidelines, including providing necessary documentation for group representation.
Supporting other NAAG service positions by sharing relevant updates from General Service that impact group practices or operations.
Participating in the communication and planning of group activities that align with District or Area initiatives.

Attending all Intergroup meetings as NAAG’s representative.
Reporting back to NAAG Business Meetings on developments from Intergroup, including upcoming votes, updates on initiatives, and service opportunities.
Voting on behalf of NAAG on Intergroup matters to ensure the group’s interests are represented.
Maintaining accurate records of Intergroup communications and decisions for group reference.
Supporting other NAAG service positions by sharing relevant updates and ensuring alignment with Intergroup guidelines and AA principles.
Facilitating communication between NAAG members and the Intergroup to ensure participation and awareness of regional initiatives.

The Attendance Verifiers are responsible for confirming member attendance and maintaining accurate group records to support NAAG’s accountability and historical tracking.
Responsibilities include:
Splitting duties among the three assigned members so that attendance verification is performed two to three days per week.
Checking the attendance verification email inbox and responding to emails in a timely and accurate manner.
Reviewing the attendance verification spreadsheet and sending out confirmations on assigned days.
Maintaining accurate records of attendance and ensuring updates are reflected in group archives.
Coordinating with other service positions as needed to support continuity in reporting and record-keeping.
Ensuring all activities align with AA principles and NAAG group motions and guidelines.

The Business Meeting Host is responsible for leading the NAAG Business Meeting, ensuring it is conducted efficiently, fairly, and in alignment with AA principles and group motions.
Responsibilities include:
Calling on Group Servants to provide service reports.
Collaborating with the Secretary to create the meeting agenda, review motions, and ensure all relevant materials are prepared.
Maintaining neutrality while facilitating discussion, presenting motions, handling amendments, and overseeing voting procedures in accordance with Robert’s Rules of Order.
Providing guidance and relaying options to members presenting motions or amendments.
Applying the Twelve Traditions of Alcoholics Anonymous to address group issues and facilitate informed decision-making.
Ensuring the meeting progresses efficiently and stays within allotted time frames.
Supporting new and existing members in understanding meeting procedures and their role in group conscience decisions.
Coordinating with other service positions to ensure continuity, accurate documentation, and smooth operation of the Business Meeting.

Maintaining an adequate supply of Big Books and Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions books.
Reviewing literature and chip requests submitted by members and mailing them on a weekly basis.
Purchasing Alcoholics Anonymous literature and sobriety chips as requested, coordinating with the Treasurer for payment and budgeting.
Making regular visits to the Post Office to fulfill literature and chip mailings.
Coordinating with the Treasurer to track costs and ensure accurate financial records related to chips and literature distribution.
Maintaining accurate records of requests and distributions to ensure accountability and continuity.
Supporting other service positions by providing literature or chips for meetings, special events, and service commitments as needed.

Composing and formatting the Newsletter for clarity, accuracy, and adherence to NAAG group guidelines.
Sending out the weekly Newsletter to the NAAG email list using MailChimp or the current email platform.
Maintaining an archive of previous Newsletters for historical reference and group continuity.
Supporting other service positions by ensuring timely communication about meetings, commitments, and service opportunities.
Ensuring all content aligns with AA principles and NAAG group practices.
Monitoring engagement with the Newsletter (opens, clicks) to inform group communication strategies, if applicable.
