AA Preamble
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism.
The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. A.A. is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes.
Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety.

[ ??? ] has volunteered to read the 9th Step Promises today. Thanks, [ ??? ]!

They should now fit into ONE message, and does not need to be broken up into two separate messages.
➤ RE-OPEN the Chat after the 9th Step Promises
→ In the Chat window, change the Chat settings to "Everyone and anyone directly" before posting the final message.
➤ Post the NCL message after the closing prayer, when the main meeting has concluded
These first 15 minutes of the after-meeting are devoted to Newcomers, or anyone with less than a year of sobriety.
This is a great time to claim your seat, ask a question, and/or share on the meeting topic. To keep things simple and organized, please allow the Newcomer Liaison (NCL) to answer any questions.
If you’ve been drinking, that’s okay! You are welcome to listen, grab numbers, and come back to share when you have 24 hours of sobriety. Remember, you don’t have to figure this out alone. That’s why this time is set aside for you.
You might be wondering things like:
What is a sponsor and how do I find one?
How do I know which meetings are right for me?
What’s this “literature” everyone talks about? Where do I get it?
What do people actually say when they call someone?
How do I stay sober when I feel like drinking or when I don’t feel anything at all?
Who wants to share first? You don’t have to raise your virtual hand — just come on in!

🆘 IMPORTANT — DO NOT LEAVE WITHOUT REOPENING THE CHAT
➣ After you close the chat, the Host & Co-Hosts cannot see that it is closed — it always appears open on their end.
➣ If you leave the meeting without reopening the chat:
❌ Members can’t exchange numbers, say thank you to the Speaker, or give their goodbyes,
❌ It may take some time for the Host or a Co-Host to notice or be alerted.
❌ Until someone can fix the chat settings, the after-meeting is disrupted and fellowship for everyone, especially newcomers, halts.
⚠️ Before you leave the meeting:
🚨 Double-check the chat access is set to “Everyone and anyone"
⛔️ This step is not optional — it’s part of your service responsibility and essential to group unity & safety.
