The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences at Whiteville utilizes the best interactive offerings of the Museum’s Raleigh-based locations by offering both indoor and outdoor activities all in one location. Inside the Museum, visitors will find an Investigate Lab, a Naturalist Center, and an indoor "Discovery Forest" play space, in addition to exhibit displays. Behind the building, visitors can explore an NC Tree Trail, dig in a Fossil Pit, play in the Nature PlaySpace and discover an "In Your Backyard" Resource Center. The Whiteville branch also offers educational programming and school field trips.
