Application Instructions
Gather the following documents needed to complete your application:
REQUIRED: Personal Statement - In less than 500 words, please explain why you wish to intern at NCMNS, your career goals and how this internship might help you achieve these goals.
REQUIRED: Unofficial Transcript - Please do not send an official copy!
CONTINGENT: Credit Hours Form (link) - If you wish to complete your internship for college credit, you must print the Credit Hours Form and have your Faculty Advisor sign it. If you are applying for non-credit/experience, please skip this step.
OPTIONAL: Resume - You may also choose to include a resume.
After you submit your application, please email your Credit Hours Form (if applicable) and your Unofficial Transcript to the Internship Coordinator (link).

The North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences was first established in downtown Raleigh in 1879 and has since grown into one of the largest natural sciences museums in the country! There are two buildings downtown connected by a bridge: the Nature Exploration Center and the Nature Research Center. Now recruiting for Fall 2021!
Prairie Ridge Ecostation and Research Labs

Two very separate - but equally unique - NCMNS operations can be found at 1671 Gold Star Drive in Raleigh: Prairie Ridge Ecostation and the off-public Research Lab. No in-person Fall 2021 opportunities available at this time.
NCMNS at Whiteville

Located near the NC/SC border, this satellite branch utilizes the best interactive offerings of the Museum’s Raleigh-based locations by offering both indoor and outdoor activities all in one location. No in-person Fall 2021 opportunities available at this time.
NCMNS at Greenville

Contentnea Creek

Through an innovative partnership between the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences and A Time for Science, the Museum has established two new branches in Pitt County: Greenville and Contentnea Creek. No in-person Fall 2021 opportunities available at this time.
