The Naturalist Center is a hands-on, public-access collection focusing on natural history specimens from North Carolina and the Southeastern USA. With close to 25,000 specimens, our goal is to teach Museum visitors about the uses and value of specimen collections. Using readings, videos, and virtual lab meetings, we will explore museum history, specimen preparation, science communication, and much more.

The intern will create educational and promotional communications content for social media and other external sources. Work will involve researching nature in SE NC and writing interesting, accessible posts. Additional projects may include, assisting with virtual programming, creating educational videos, writing press releases, and assessing marketing strategy.
