Tiger Traps at Owd Betts

We have just received the following images of the tiger traps that were talked about at our last general meeting close to Owd Betts. They show the scraping operations and clearing vegetation that members of RMNF have undertaken. It is hoped that this will enable the spaces between the sleepers to drain more easily. 

The email went on to say that local residents had commented on the reduction in the off road vehicle nuisance since the installation of the fence and other measures. A Local business had also commented on the the fact that his business with the off-roaders has declined by up to 90%. Although there was a short term  impact on this business he would "take the hit", because fewer off-roaders means greater opportunity to get business from, legitimate users. Runners, dog walkers and Commoners have all been very positive in their comments about the effect on amenity and the environment. In addition it is great to see that the Moor is beginning to recover with Flora and Fauna beginning to thrive once again.
