Criterion B focuses on developing ideas that might be possible solutions to the problem. The goal in this section of the design cycle is to explore possible solutions and then present the best solution for making.

What is a design specification?
They are a set of constraints, requirements and considerations for a solution: what the solution must or must not have to be successful. They are not a description of the outcome. They should demonstrate that you understand the needs of the problem that you have identified.
The specification or success criteria should be directly connected to your design brief. Writing them can be a difficult job if the design brief is not well researched and written. If a solution or design fails to meet an aspect of the specification or success criteria, it can be considered that it has not met the criteria for success.
You will need to refer back to your specification or success criteria throughout the project, particularly when developing ideas and evaluating the solution.
Bii - Developing ideas (MYP 3 - How To Do?).mp3Mood Board (REQUIRED)
What is a Mood board? A mood board is simply where you go onto the internet and collect as many photographs as possible and place them onto an A4 page. These photographs are NOT placed neatly they are: upside down, at an angle, over lapping, etc. and they make up a collage. From this collage inspiration can sometime be found for your design which will come in the next stage.
Initial Design Ideas (REQUIRED)
At least THREE (or more) initial design ideas (each idea will have at least 3 story boards). If the quality of drawings makes it difficult or impossible to interpret the design, then you will achieve the lower band score. Annotation should give a brief account of each initial design idea. Think of different ideas, themes, that are aesthetically pleasing, relevant and realistic; include for text/annotations and linked to the design brief and client interview. You are required to create a STORY BOARD of each initial design idea with annotations.
Evaluation (REQUIRED)
Evaluate each one of the initial design ideas against the design specifications / success criteria;
Client Feedback (REQUIRED)
Client feedback on each initial design idea. What does you client like and not like about each of your designs.
NOTES:
During this stage of the MYP Design Cycle there is no need for excellent initial design ideas to be produced. These ideas can be developed further in the section to include for much more detail and notes enabling the product to be constructed in the Create stage.
You DO NOT require a storyboard for every page the beginning, middle and end will suffice at a very minimum; however, you can include more.

Biii - Developing ideas (MYP2 and MYP 3).mp3Chosen Design Idea (REQUIRED)
1) Your client should select ONE initial design idea from Bii and then you simply copy and paste that drawing/design into Biii and give the reasons why this one has been chosen over the the options which were available.
2) You also need to state if the chosen design idea meets the specification/success criteria completed in Bi.

A detailed STORY BOARD must must show the main elements of the chosen design, indicating the layout.
Note: this final STORY BOARD which is the chosen design idea shown in Biii and taken from the initial design idea options available in Bii MUST be drawn in great detail with all of the information required to actually make the product in Crit C (Creating the solution).
