So, I decide to
I heard of a pastor once saying. If you pay me $X amount then I am called to this church, other wise i am called some where else.
Human Quotes: "I feel called" , "God must want me over here or there" , "That must not be my purpose" , "I guess God has other plans for my life" , "It's just not meant to be" ,
Bible Quote: Jeremiah 29:11 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
ARE THESE OUR REAL QUESTIONS: Do I just wait around for God to tell me his plan for my life? Am I supposed to pursue my own plan and expect God to bless it? If I just love God and accept his grace then he has plans to prosper me? What is the purpose for my life?
SHORT ANSWER: Jeremiah 29 is not about an individual and it is not written for us. It was written to the entire Jewish Israelite nation. Just read the entire chapter, it is very obvious that YHWH plans to prosper the Jews and bring them back to Israel after they go in to exile. In fact we are watching this happen AGAIN, right now in our lifetime. Since Israel was exiled to Europe and the United States, YHWH then brought them back to Israel in 1948 and 1967 and they are currently prospering as a nation. Prophesy fulfilled in front of our eyes.
Simply YHWH's plan for our lives is that we obey his law, commandments, and teachings: 1 Timothy 2:3-4 that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.
This is a fun topic you can find plenty of books about.
Please read this study first: Why does YHWH allow me to sin?
14 “Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. 15 To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag,[a] each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. 16 The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more. 17 So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. 18 But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.
19 “After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. 20 The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’
21 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things.Come and share your master’s happiness!’
22 “The man with two bags of gold also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.’
23 “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things.Come and share your master’s happiness!’
24 “Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed. 25 So I was afraid and went out and hid your gold in the ground. See, here is what belongs to you.’
26 “His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? 27 Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.
28 “‘So take the bag of gold from him and give it to the one who has ten bags. 29 For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. 30 And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’
I have been given: Life, money, family, friends, connections, church, community, natural resources, knowledge, youtube, etc. etc, WHAT have I DONE with my life? What do I have to show for it? No excuses, some of us have been given very little, some a lot, what have I done with it?
The real question is: Who supplies the dream? Me or the Holy Spirit? I will assume that I am to pursue that dream with all my resources with the Holy Spirit helping along the way. How do I pursue the proper dream?
This is rough draft and needs verses to back it up and much more research, use Josephus history record too.
Adam and Eve: Walked with G-d, just enjoyed each others company and G-d's creation....until they sinned, then they lost that friendship and had daily decisions to follow G-d or selfish desires. Their job was to name the animals and be fruitful and multiply.
Noah: Because of his Obedience, he was chosen to be fruitful and multiply. HIs job was to build a boat, G-d gave him the dream only because he was upright and noble.
Abraham: He used common sense and logic to realize how stupid idols were, because he pursued a living G-d and obeyed before there was even a written law, G-d chose to bless Abraham's dream (of having children) beyond expectations. His job was to be fruitful and multiply.
Isaac: Chose to throw himself on the altar when learning it was G-d's will. Be fruitful and multiply, be a blessing to his father and be extremely blessed and wealthy.
Joseph: Joseph had a relationship with the HS, because everything he dreamed, did, touched was blessed, and Joseph used it to bless others including his masters and every one that tried to harm him. His job was to have a relationship with G-d's HS and use his blessings for others benefit.
Moses: His father's dream was to free the Israelites, G-d said 400 years without a homeland, any 1 of a million Jews could have been used. Because of his fathers prayers, and because of a great 7000 year plan, Moses floated in river, every child under 2 killed. 40 years later, every egyptian under 2 killed. 1500 years later every Jew under 2 killed again when Jesus was born to set us free from slavery of sin.
Jonah: Told to go preach, but he didn't like those people, and fought it. G-d forced him to obey or suffer separation from him and others until he obeyed and did his job as a prophet. Interestingly he didn't want to go to Ninevah because he knew they would repent and G-d would forgive them. Jonah didn't like them and want that to happen.
Josiah: He first did the right thing, rebuilding temple, he then repented for himself and past generations, after learning of their sins when he found the Torah, he then seeked a word from G-d through a prophetess. Then G-d answered with still massive punishments, because their sins were so great for so long, but he let Josiah die in peace.
Nehemiah: Nehemiah had questions, then wept, prayed and fasted, asking if his people obey, he will gather them together again. Asked King's permission, Worked hard building walls, obeying Torah and observing feast of temporary structures. continued to confess sins, and obey the Torah. Constant continuous effort to obey Law.
Esther:15 Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: 16 “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.” (she did what was good and right for her people regardless of her outcome.)
Jesus: Obeyed even though he didn't want to (garden of gethsemane) limited his power to the same power we are also capable of as the perfect example to us.
Paul:
John the Baptist:
Peter:
YHWH could give you instructions in a cloud of smoke or a burning bush, but then you would be Moses, and you would have a Bible written about you, ......but wait, that's what Jesus promised through Holy Spirit: John 14:12 Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
