As I started studying Biblical Feasts and started to follow them. I have been convicted by so many verses about the traditions of Christmas Dec. 25
Did you know there are many verses in the Bible about idols under green trees?
Did you know sacrificing babies to God and idols under green trees were happening during the same time in Israel?
Did you know Christmas trees are only 100 years old as an American tradition, thousands of years old as a pagan tradition?
Did you know abortions (baby sacrifice) is only 60 years old as part of our American culture, but is thousands of years old as a pagan culture?
So, why do I have a Christmas tree? What does it represent? Why do I decorate it? Why do I put presents under it?
Google search Christmas history, Christmas evergreen tree, and history of Christmas tree. YHWH compared it to the Jews cheating on Him.
Jeremiah 10:1 Hear the word which the Lord speaks to you, O house of Israel. 2 Thus says the Lord: “Do not learn the way of the Gentiles; Do not be dismayed at the signs of heaven, For the Gentiles are dismayed at them. 3 For the customs of the peoples are futile; For one cuts a tree from the forest, The work of the hands of the workman, with the ax. 4 They decorate it with silver and gold; They fasten it with nails and hammers So that it will not topple. 5 They are upright, like a palm tree, And they cannot speak; They must be carried, Because they cannot go by themselves. Do not be afraid of them, For they cannot do evil, Nor can they do any good.”
Do you think this is an idol or Christmas tree? I encourage you to read the following verses about idols under green trees. Then make your own decision. I will be humbly asking YHWH to teach me of the truth.
Deuteronomy 12: 1 “These are the statutes and judgments which you shall be careful to observe in the land which the Lord God of your fathers is giving you to possess, all the days that you live on the earth. 2 You shall utterly destroy all the places where the nations which you shall dispossess served their gods, on the high mountains and on the hills and under every green tree. 3 And you shall destroy their altars, break their sacred pillars, and burn their wooden images with fire; you shall cut down the carved images of their gods and destroy their names from that place. 4 You shall not worship the Lord your God with such things. So......we can't use these things to worship God??
Deuteronomy 16:1-17 is a review of the required festivals if we follow YHWH, vs. 21-22 “You are not to plant any sort of tree as a sacred pole (Asherah) beside the altar of Adonai your God that you will make for yourselves. 22 Likewise, do not set up a standing-stone; Adonai your God hates such things."
2 Kings 16: 2 Ahaz was twenty years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem sixteen years. Unlike David his father, he did not do what was right in the eyes of the Lord his God. 3 He followed the ways of the kings of Israel and even sacrificed his son in the fire, engaging in the detestable practices of the nations the Lord had driven out before the Israelites. 4 He offered sacrifices and burned incense at the high places, on the hilltops and under every spreading green tree.
Ezekiel 20: 27 “Therefore, son of man, speak to the people of Israel and say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: In this also your ancestors blasphemed me by being unfaithful to me: 28 When I brought them into the land I had sworn to give them and they saw any high hill or any leafy green tree, there they offered their sacrifices, made offerings that aroused my anger, presented their fragrant incense and poured out their drink offerings. 29 Then I said to them: What is this high place you go to?’” (It is called High place to this day.) 30 “Therefore say to the Israelites: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Will you defile yourselves the way your ancestors did and lust after their vile images? 31 When you offer your gifts—the sacrifice of your children in the fire—you continue to defile yourselves with all your idols to this day. Am I to let you inquire of me, you Israelites? As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I will not let you inquire of me."
Note: They were inquiring of YHWH God! These were idols under green trees and sacrifices of their babies and gifts to the Jewish YHWH God, but they were doing it in pagan ways! Are abortion and Christmas trees related? They were passing babies through the fire at the same time as putting idols under green trees.
According to HIstory Channel website the Puritans banned Christmas trees as pagan, until so many Germans and Irish brought over the tradition and it became part of ALL of America in the 1930's with Rockefeller center tree.
2 Kings 17:10 They set up sacred stones and Asherah poles on every high hill and under every spreading tree. 11 At every high place they burned incense, as the nations whom the Lord had driven out before them had done. They did wicked things that aroused the Lord’s anger.
Ezekiel 6: 11 “‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Strike your hands together and stamp your feet and cry out “Alas!” because of all the wicked and detestable practices of the people of Israel, for they will fall by the sword, famine and plague. 12 One who is far away will die of the plague, and one who is near will fall by the sword, and anyone who survives and is spared will die of famine. So will I pour out my wrath on them. 13 And they will know that I am the Lord, when their people lie slain among their idols around their altars, on every high hill and on all the mountaintops, under every spreading tree and every leafy oak—places where they offered fragrant incense to all their idols."
Jeremiah 3:6 The Lord said also to me in the days of Josiah the king: “Have you seen what backsliding Israel has done? She has gone up on every high mountain and under every green tree, and there played the harlot. 7 And I said, after she had done all these things, ‘Return to Me.’ But she did not return. And her treacherous sister Judah saw it. 8 Then I saw that for all the causes for which backsliding Israel had committed adultery, I had put her away and given her a certificate of divorce;"
Jeremiah 2: 20 Long ago you broke off your yoke and tore off your bonds: you said, ‘I will not serve you!’ Indeed, on every high hill and under every green tree you lay down as a prostitute."
Jeremiah 3: 13 Only acknowledge your iniquity, That you have transgressed against the Lord your God, And have scattered your charms To alien deities under every green tree, And you have not obeyed My voice,’ says the Lord.
Jeremiah 17:1 “The sin of Judah is written with a pen of iron; With the point of a diamond it is engraved On the tablet of their heart, And on the horns of your altars, 2 While their children remember Their altars and their wooden images By the green trees on the high hills.
QUESTIONS: Is Jesus God? If Jesus is God, then is the manger scene an image of God? (The golden calves were not new idol gods, they were images of the one true God that took them out of Egypt)
What would you say is the idol of Americans today? An idol is what we trust, would you agree that we trust our "stuff"? We trust our wealth, our jobs for security. The American economy certainly trusts black Friday to keep it going. So if that is our idol - what do we put under our green trees? Is there a difference between us and the Jews of the OT?
Is there anything about our Christmas traditions that is from the Bible?
Christmas trees and abortions have been around thousands of years. But both became a normal part of our Christian culture only in the last 100 years. Looks very similar to what happened to the Jews before they either repented or were removed from their land.
December 25 is the date to celebrate the "birth of the sun" the winter solstice, for thousands of years before Christ.
This was enough to convince me: "Christians stole this holiday from us" (taken from the church of satan website - go ahead google it)
I encourage you to do your own study and research, ask YHWH God to reveal to you the truth.

You have observed the statutes of Omri
and all the practices of Ahab’s house;
you have followed their traditions.
Therefore I will give you over to ruin
and your people to derision;
you will bear the scorn of the nations

If we follow YHWH, are we allowed to worship Him the way Pagans do? NO!
