No.
Step back from your own religion and tradition and just study what Jesus said, and what all the prophecies said about him.
Jesus consistently just repeated the old testament, he strengthened and made the commandments tougher. When asked "How do I get eternal life?"
Mark 10: 17 As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. “Good teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?”
18 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone. 19 You know the commandments: ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, you shall not defraud, honor your father and mother.’[d]”
20 “Teacher,” he declared, “all these I have kept since I was a boy.”
21 Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."
Jesus didn't come preaching a new religion, he preached the commandments, Jesus loved him for following the commandments, but he challenged him to become even better and DOING more. We only focus on a few small verses with out looking at the context: Grace, Mercy, Following Jesus. "If you love me, you will keep my commands"
Matthew 15:
21 Leaving that place, Jesus withdrew to the region of Tyre and Sidon.22 A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.”
23 Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, “Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us.”
24 He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel.”
25 The woman came and knelt before him. “Lord, help me!” she said.
26 He replied, “It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”
27 “Yes it is, Lord,” she said. “Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.”
28 Then Jesus said to her, “Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted.” And her daughter was healed at that moment.
Nothing else needs to be said. Jesus came only for the Jews. God's Holy Spirit came to the disciples after Jesus was back in Heaven. God also caused the Jews to be dispersed through out the entire world so we gentiles can learn from them.
Yes you are free to take as much or as little knowledge from the Jews, Jesus and the Bible. But why not learn and do as much as possible from the Jewish faith, while at the same time learning from their mistakes that Jesus, and the old testament prophets kept pointing out.
This study only works if you throw out whatever religion you have right now. That is very scary to do and takes years of time in some cases.

1. Matthew 1 shows Jesus geneology, important to Jews and to prophecy that he came from Jewish King David, and has gentile blood (book of Ruth).
2. If Jesus were just a man, he couldn't fulfil prophecy before he was born.
3. Herod killed all boys under the age of two because he learned the new king of Israel was born.
4. Jesus had no control over John the Baptist or his prophecy.
5. Most likely this happened during the feast of Atonement, so Jesus was possibly fulfilling that feast too. Jewish 1st born sons were also dedicated to God. Also to be an example of baptism to us. This is when Jesus ministry started. Baptised by water and then by the Holy Spirit of YHWH.
6. If we follow Jesus order here: Baptized by water, then by spirit, next is YHWH allowing the devil to test us, to prepare us for ministry
7. The Devil or our own sinful desires can use Bible verses to temp and test us. But we are not to test YHWH.
8. YHWH won't tolerate serving two masters. Do I trust in YHWH or money, home, job, family. Who is my master? Who do I serve?
9. Even where he lived fulfilled prophecy. Jesus brings about the "Kingdom of Heaven" on earth, and he asked several men at that time and us to "follow him". So what does it mean to follow him and to enter the Kingdom of Heaven?
10. All of Matthew 5-7 is spoken by Yeshua, please read all 3 chapters. In all the verses, Yeshua confirms the laws and prophets from old testament. He then clarifies and strengthens and adds to the laws.
11. Yeshua is still commanding the Jews to follow all of the Moses Levitical law.
12. Leviticus 23 is the required feasts and they are to be done forever wherever followers live. Jesus and the Torah are talking about feasts that the entire world is invited to but many subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside of the party.
13. Am I willing to be homeless to follow Jesus. Dead spiritually can bury the dead physically.
