-Insert Mock CDE Contest resources -
The mock CDE contest aligns with the standard of student career development. While preparing for and participating in this mock CDE with classmates in ALEC 234 it showed me all the access to opportunities in career exploration that students get to participate in. Students have access to a variety of experiences that support their career exploration and development, like work-based learning, internships and industry certifications in all career areas. With contests from meats evaluation to agronomy students get to use informed decision making and choose which career area interests them. It incorporates interactive components that provided students and their families with accurate, timely, and accessible information about various career paths, postsecondary options, and labor market trends. While developing the content needed for students to study for contests it showed me how important it is to guide students and help them grow academically and personally.
-Insert guest speaker lesson plan -
This guest speaker lesson plan demonstrates standard nine of student career development. By creating this lesson for students to explore different real-world career paths which is directly from industry professionals while in class. This helps with the comprehensive career guidance by showing student different career areas that are out there and not just agriculture like healthcare or business. By having a guest speaker students are able to make informed decisions and make a personalized plan for the postsecondary options and different career opportunities outside of high school. The guest speaker lesson plan serves as a meaningful artifact that highlights how structured, real-world experiences and access to current information guide students to explore careers with confidence.
