In my Animal Science unit plan I aligned it to the AFNR or STS standards. I aligned these standards with a week of lessons, along with formative assessments. This curriculum is based on industry-validated standards to prepare students for what is to come in the workforce and will allow for students application of integrated knowledge and skills in authentic scenarios.
Using the code of conduct for all classroom activities will give students a set of expectations for all classroom happenings. The Code of Conduct will follow the Nebraska Standards along with meeting criteria such as employability skills which prepare students for their career in the workforce or just in life by sparking problem-solving, critical thinking and teamwork. Another criteria that can be met by the code of conduct is getting employer input on what they are wanting for students coming in ready to work, the employer input is always changing so keeping this up to date is critical for students.
