MA.2.NSO.1.2: Compose and decompose three-digit numbers in multiple ways using hundreds, tens and ones. Demonstrate each composition or decomposition with objects, drawings and expressions or equations. (Lessons 2-1, 2-2, & 2-4)
MA.2.NSO.1.1: Read and write numbers from 0 to 1,000 using standard form, expanded form and word form. (Lesson 2-3)
MA.2.NSO.1.3: Plot, order and compare whole numbers up to 1,000. (Lessons 2-5 & 2-6)
MA.NSO.1.4: Round whole numbers from 0 to 100 to the nearest 10. (Lesson 2-7)

Learn that 10 tens are equal to 1 hundred

2.2 explore 3 -digit numbers

identify that 3 digit number has hundreds, tens and ones.

Use and understand what a place value chart is

know that a 3 digit number can be in different forms:

standard form = 235
expanded form = 200+30+5
word form = two hundred thirty-five
shown using or drawing base ten blocks

2.4 compose and decompose 3-digit numbers (2-days)

Emphasize is on 'decomposing' a hundred or a ten to show a 3 digit number in another way

Ex:

3 hundreds 2 tens 5 ones can be further broken by:

2 hundreds 12 tens 5 ones

3 hundreds 1 ten 15 ones

*we will work on this number sense extensively to build fluency among 3 digit numbers

2.5 compare 3- digit numbers

Learn and understand compare symbols
