Today we....
Wow! We sure had fun on our 1st Day back to shool!
Just like our bodies have a heart beat, students were introduced to listening for the beat of songs. Students used hands and feet and bodies to move to the beat. All the students were given an opportunity in creating a different beat on the tin for the rest of the class.
Students were introduced to Solfege--Do-Re-Mi. Played musical notes on the Xylophone. New words learned: octave and measure.
Students learned how to recite Rhythm Syllables to several beat patterns with different note values.
Students learned a prayer song in singing God Bless America. We discussed the meaning behind the song. They were given the assignment to talk about it and practice singing it at home.

Bring in one or two different items from home that could be used as an instrument.
End of Semester Project--Save your empty, long gift wrap tubes for class project, preferably 2+ inches in diameter.
Continue to practice singing God Bless America.
