Highway Signage/Traffic Control Regulations
Highway Signage/Traffic Control Regulations
Rules and regulations for highway signage will be dependant on vehicles. This can be found in the "Duties and Regualtions" tab.
Tow Trucks
Tow trucks may ONLY use small sized traffic cones while on a call.
Tow trucks may ONLY block a road with cones if it is neccassary to do the job. Eg, the vehicle being towed is blocking multiple lanes of traffic.
Tow trucks may also block a lane/half a lane to allow another tow truck on the side of the road to safely perform their duties without the risk of being hit by a vehicle. This is preferably only to be done on the highway where vehicles are travelling at high speeds. This is called "blocking" or being a "blocker". A blocker may also be called in the form of a traffic control driver.Â
A blocker is allowed to close a lane to allow another driver to perform their duties, but must always do so using cones and parking the truck at an angle in the lane. They must also stand with a traffic sign at the back of the vehicle showing "slow" to warn drivers of a hazard.
Traffic Vehicles
Traffic vehicles must always have their amber lights activated when at the scene of any sort of roadword/incident. There must always be a traffic truck with a signboard where there is lane closure, to direct vehicles into whichever lane is not actively closed.
Traffic control when there is only one lane open on a two lane road, must ALWAYS have two traffic control vehicles or persons, to stop traffic at either end. Only ONE side may be flowing at one time.
Traffic vehicles must follow the law at all times when escorting a slow moving vehicle, along with the vehicle they are escorting.
Traffic vehicles must always carry all required equipment relative to their vehicles specialty.
