Biome Research Project...Take 2
In your second biome research assignment, you will be investigating two or more threats to biodiversity in your chosen biome.
You will be working on your own and writing your own paper. I would like this to be the same biome you used during the previous project, but it does not have to be.
There is no minimum or maximum number of pages for this project. However, it would be difficult to provide sufficient detail in less than 2 pages. Your document will be typed in 12 point font and double spaced. Name and header will also be in 12 point font. Point will be deducted under presentation for not following this. I know I'm being fussy, but if so many of you didn't try to do your media assignments in 72 points font I wouldn't have to say anything.
In addition to being graded using the 6+1 traits rubric (35 points), you need to meet the following requirements for this project:
Threats discussed are current and pose a significant, specific impact to the ecosystem. Global warming is bad, but it may not have as significant an impact on deserts (or at least the hot ones) as other threats to biodiversity.

Explain the causes behind the threats you have chosen to research. These threats are, for the most part, caused by humans. What have humans done to create this threat which is disrupting these environments?

Explain the current damage your chosen threats have caused.

Explain the implication of not taking action to reduce these threats. What will happen if things keep on going the way they are?

Sufficient details are provided. Assume that your audience not intimately familiar with the topic you are discussing.

You must have at least 2 CREDIBLE (blogs, pictures alone, and so forth are not credible) sources and they need to be cited appropriately. Use MLA formatting as you were taught in English.

It should go without saying that this needs to be your own work in your own words. You will receive 0 credit for a plagiarized paper. If you are not sure what qualifies as plagiarism, ASK FIRST!
