What is floating?
Floatation therapy is a unique treatment using 1000lb of Epsom Salt in skin temperature water.
At Move Right, our float room is approximately 5’W x 8’H x 8’L and incorporates a celestial ceiling that creates the illusion of a star-lit night to enable you to truly “float among the stars”.
Floatation therapy provides an immediate effect on pain relief and elimination of stress and also promotes ‘whole-brain’ thinking. Many athletes, writers and artists have experienced enormous benefits from floatation therapy utilizing floatation tanks.
Preparing for your Float Session
To achieve the best results out of this experience.
BEFORE YOUR SESSION
Do not shave or wax on your appointment day; Epson Salt can cause irritation in recently shaved or waxed skin. (Vaseline is provided to cover cuts and avoid discomfort)
Please book your session for at least 48 hrs after having hair color treatments and tanning.
Floating under the influence of alcohol or drugs is not permitted under any circumstances
Have a light meal 1.5 to 2 hrs prior to your session; this may help you avoid hunger
Avoid having caffeine and/or smoking before your float. The stimulating effect is the opposite of what you want to achieve when floating: relaxation
THE DAY OF YOUR FLOAT
We provide a robe, slippers, towel, washcloth, ear plugs, body wash, shampoo, and conditioner. You may want to bring lotion for after your session if you are prone to dry skin.
Please arrive 5 minutes before your appointment
We recommend using the bathroom before the float to avoid interruptions during your session
Once in the Float Room, you take a short shower to rinse deodorant, gel, makeup and other bodily products
Earplugs easy to insert when you are still dry. They create a seal that prevents water from getting into your ears.
Step into the Float Room, and relax. You may use our pillow if it makes you more comfortable.
The music and lights will be on for 5 minutes for your shower, then 10 more minutes for your prefloat, after this the lights and music will go out for the remaining 50 minutes (20 min for a mini) of your float, you may turn them back on using the buttons in the room or ask us to keep them on for you before your float begins.
Once your float ends, shower and get dressed. You can enjoy a water in our lounge and share your experience with us.

Skin infections
Open wounds
Recent surgery (allow 14 days for healing)

how often should i do Float therapy?
Many participants find that to maintain these benefits, they need to float at least once a week.
what are the benefits
Floating produces many mental and physical benefits including:
The feeling of weightlessness produced by the buoyancy eliminates the body’s pressure points relieving muscle tension that in many cases is responsible for chronic back and neck pain, headaches and stress. The water combined with the Epsom Salt give the body complete support allowing tense muscles to slowly relax and slowly alleviate muscle pain.
Pain relief – While floating the body reaches a state of deep relaxation that otherwise can only be reached when sleeping. During this deep relaxation the electrical activity of the brain drops ‘from about 20 – 25 HZ to 4 – 8 HZ, the brain goes into a wave pattern known as the Theta State and ‘the body releases Endorphins: the body’s “Natural Painkillers”. After the Float session the body will continue releasing Endorphins so the beneficial effects will last for several days.
Muscle pain due to overworked muscles, as in the case of athletes, will find a much faster pain relief since production of Endorphins will greatly reduce the levels of lactic acid in the blood stream.
Floating also helps reducing pain produced by inflammation, strains, sprains, bruises, muscle soreness, and exercise.
Stress Relief – The deep relaxation achieved while floating enables the brain to reach the Theta State. In this state, the body releases endorphins that remove Cortisol “the Stress Hormone”, Adrenaline, ACTH and Lactate from the blood stream. The result of increased Endorphins in the blood stream is lower stress and reduced pain, fatigue and muscle tension. As a final benefit, these feelings remain with you for several days.
