The practitioner does not:
Assess mental health conditions
Diagnose psychological or psychiatric disorders
Treat mental illness
Provide clinical therapy or counseling
Any discussion of psychological concepts is educational and symbolic, not diagnostic or therapeutic.
This practice does not provide crisis intervention or emergency mental health services.
If a client is experiencing:
Active suicidal ideation
Risk of harm to self or others
Psychosis or loss of contact with reality
Severe dissociation or destabilization
They are advised to seek immediate support through:
Emergency services (911)
A licensed mental health professional
Local or national crisis resources (e.g., 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline)
The practitioner may pause or discontinue services if crisis-level support is required.
By engaging in this work, clients acknowledge that:
Participation is voluntary
The practitioner makes no guarantees regarding outcomes
Symbolic or spiritual exploration does not replace professional care
Clients remain responsible for their own choices, interpretations, and actions
The practitioner uses titles such as spiritual counselor, minister, or shadow integration practitioner in a non-clinical, non-licensed capacity.
No licensed mental health credentials are claimed or implied.
This scope and addendum exist to ensure clarity, ethical practice, and appropriate boundaries for both practitioner and client under Michigan law.
