PRACTICUM IN LEARNING THEORY- EDTC 750

JAN. 26-MAY 11, 2021

INSTRUCTOR: CYNTHIA VITALE

This is the final core course and is taken with “Practicum in Learning Theory”. The goal for this course is to provide teachers with methodologies to create technology-infused educational units. Teachers will examine models of instructional design and assessment and apply these models to a web-based learning project.

Technology will be employed to: determine and/or establish connectivity among topics; access and integrate data sources, acquisition of management skills in coordinating student investigations; and applying assessment techniques that utilize technology.

The Practicum in Learning Theory Project is a requirement for all students and is taken with “Tools for the Development of Instruction.” A capstone to the entire sequence of course experiences requiring: the conceptualization, operational planning, and field execution of a self-contained curricular project. Completion of a comprehensive project proposal including: justification for the project; goals and objectives; procedure and methods; and potential impact and significance is required before the project can begin. The project must be approved by the instructor for the Practicum part of the program as the semester begins.

The written proposal must be submitted to the instructor prior to the start of the project. The instructor makes recommendations to the student about all aspects of the project.

The MSET Graduate website will archive permanent copies of the project.
