The Interactive Venn Diagram from "Read Write Think" is a very useful tool that I could use to have students compare multiple topics. I could also use it to help present information to my students.
I could use this meme to introduce my students to Galileo and his scientific discoveries that the church criticized him for.
Seesaw is a great tool to manage and share student work. They have a library full of lessons to help teachers plan and engage students. Teachers can also design their own activities for students. I really enjoyed that it is also an easy platform for students and parents to communicate with each other. To the left you can see an image of my "inbox" where I am able to message parents and students. Below you can see the stream of my activities I have assigned to students.
This podcast specifically talks about how to incorporate "Genius Hour" or "20 percent time" into your classroom. It is a really interesting concept and something I would like to try in my classroom. I am really drawn to this model of teaching because it allows students to have more choice over their learning and therefore can lead to more student engagement and success. I really like how they also suggest celebrating the failures/struggles students face. By celebrating the these moments it allows students to recognize failure as a new opportunity to learn and grow. I am eager to try something similar to this in my classroom.
