There are many people of all ages that struggle with vison impairment. I had many friends throughout school that often-needed special accommodation because they were not able to read the small print in their textbooks or on their computers. Some people even struggle to read the letters on their keyboard. By utilizing the keyboard with large print letters, numbers, and symbols, those with poor vision do not have to struggle to keep up with other students in regard to their typing. Students should not have to worry about their impaired vision; they should be solely focused on their education. If they must worry about their vision, they will not be able to thrive in school and their grades will reflect that.
Sometimes, there are individuals that cannot write and listen at the same time. By utilizing this pen, individuals, students and adults alike, can take notes for later review, but can also record their professor's lecture. If the individual is later reviewing the information, they can click on a specific sentence, paragraph, or word and can hear their professor say the specific sentence, paragraph, or word clicked on. Their temporary or permanent impairment could affect their school life, work life, or even their play life, so if they have this tool, they can ease through life and keep up with their peers
In schools, their are many students who fidget a lot whether it be messing with their fingers, hair, or clothing, but they can also fidget their feet as well. By having these bands to put on the back of their chair, students can kick the bands or fidget with their bands to aid in their focus on the subject material. This tool can help students with autism, ADHD, or different sensory issues. If the students can cater to the needs of their sensory issues, they will not have to worry about being distracted in class. By helping their distractions that come from their sensory issues, the student’s peers will also be able to focus better in class.
There are some individuals who struggle with hand movement necessary to grab a pencil, pen, coloring item, paint brush etc. By having these hand grips, the students can perform the duties required in the everyday life of the student and their peers. This tool can aid students with limb loss, cerebral palsy, stroke victims, and more by not requiring them to be able to make a fist or clutch the specific tool to be used. Having an aided grip like this is necessary for the participation of those students with special needs. Without this aid, students would struggle to write or not be able to write at all, which would put more strain on the teacher and the other students.
Many students can not read super fast resulting in students falling behind. For those that struggle with dyslexia or other reading or vision disorders, audiobooks are a great tool. If a student can not read or struggles to keep up and falls behind everyone else, it can cause a great amount of stress for the student, their parents, their teachers, and their peers. If the student can keep up with their peers, class will run smoothly, and the student will not have to worry about feelings of insecurity or being a burden to those that surround them. The tool would be necessary in the classroom for those that struggle, and the teacher would see much m ore progress in the students' grades and well being.
