This game would be essential in learning addition. This creates a fun way for students to see the different ways to add to get to a specific number and also aids in learning addition by having the two different color features. I think this could work as a group setting but could also be utilized in a personal setting. By having the two different colors, I could split the classroom into two different teams (red team and blue team.) One team would go first at random picking a number from zero to five, and the other team would have to determine what number (zero to five) would be added to that to equal the answer. For example, if the answer was six and the red team went first, they could pick the number four, and the blue team would respond with two because four plus two is six.
This smartboard activity would be useful when learning about different graphs and tables. This activity not only asks for personal student participation but also allows for the class to work together to come up with a graph or chart based on the students' opinions. Not only is this useful for teaching a lesson, but it also allows for feedback on how the students feel during the lesson without the teacher having to ask each student personally. As a teacher, this would be very useful because it reviews different graphs and tables such as bar graphs and pie charts. After learning about each of these, the teacher could set aside some time to do this activity with the class.
This smartboard activity would be useful because it gives students pictures to match with the specific sounds they have been working on. By having pictures to match to, students can have more fun and be more interested in what they are learning about. The teacher can utilize this and use it as either a group activity or as an individual assignment. This will test students' ability to sound out words and determine what sound could match the specific word. As a teacher, the goal of this activity is for my students to be able to identify the picture, identify the sounds being used in the word, and then match the correct sound out of the three listed (wh, ch, sh.)
This smartboard activity would be utilized in a group of two students. The students would be randomized into groups of two, and each group would be assigned two fraction addition problems. If done correctly, the two students would come up with the same correct answer even though the problems are different. This would teach students the importance of simplifying correctly while adding fractions. I think this would be a very useful activity because it requires more individual work because it is not a classroom activity, but each student has a partner that can still aid and help them along if they are struggling.
This is a very useful smart board activity because students individually can test their knowledge on their current vocabulary words. By having to complete the following tasks such as giving the definition of the word, examples, etc., the students are having to think thoroughly about each word. This is important because the harder the student must think about the word, along with having to use the word in different ways engraves the word into the student's mind. That way, when reviewing or having a test over these words in the future, the students are able to remember their vocabulary words.
