This grouped bookmark would be useful in many ways. It teaches the importance of math, specifically addition and subtraction, to children in grade kindergarten, first, and potentially second grade. There are a variety of websites that are in the bookmark include informational websites, mainly for the teacher, online games, printable worksheets, and videos for both additional and subtraction. Having a variety of ways to teach these students allows them to be more interactive and helps them to get less bored. When students can participate in many different activities, it helps to stimulate different areas of their brain rather than just having to sit and stare at a whiteboard. By using informational websites, teachers and students alike can read about addition and subtraction to cater to the needs of the students that succeed by reading specifically about the information rather than having to sit and listen to the teacher. Some students thrive in being able to read the information and teach themselves. By using online games, students that like to mess around and play games, can do so, but with addition and subtraction. There are multiple games that can allow students to play games that cater to the information they need to learn. There are games such as snake attack, car rush, etc. that will allow students to have fun. With kids, especially younger kids, having to just sit and stare at a teacher while talking is not enjoyable. By using videos, student are able to be entertained once again by information videos. Most teachers try to find videos that are entertaining that have fun shapes, bright colors, or catchy songs. By playing videos, kids attention is caught and catchy ideas are placed in there head. This way when students are doing homework or taking tests/quizzes, they can remember these catchy songs or memorable shapes, colors, or characters. These videos can be beneficial to students when they don’t want to just hear a teacher talking at the front of the classroom. By using printable worksheets, students can physically work on each assignment given. This allows student to actually follow through with the skills they’ve learned through the online games, videos, and informational websites along with the teachers lectures to see where their skill level lays. This is important because you can always see where a student’s skill level lays just by online games or by teacher lectures. Overall, there are many different way to teach students. Through using this bookmark with a variety of ways to teach their students, their students can acknowledge the importance of addition and subtraction, remember it during important tests, and stay active and alert during the lesson.
