International Festival

This month we hosted our annual International Festival! IBSC wants to take a moment to recognize and thank everyone who made this possible. Our amazing performers included: Brayden Holliday, Sofia Craig & Brayden Thomas, The Midlo Symphony Orchestra, and Rusty Buckets (Mr. Spewak, Mr. Davis, Mr. Chetham, and Mr. Fletcher). We also thank the parents and teachers who hosted a cultural booth: Anne Macellaro, Anina Witherow, Ms. Petersen, and Ms. Foster. A big thank you goes to Bobby Holliday on the Parents Council for editing our video together, and to Anina Witherow as the Intercultural Engagement chair. Finally, thank you to our amazing audience! We hope you enjoyed the night, and if you missed it, be on the lookout on our Youtube channel soon!

IBPC Awards

A message from your IB Parents Council:

“Each year your IB Parents Council takes a moment to recognize outstanding IB students in the 9th, 10th and 11th grade for their experience and contributions to the Midlothian IB community. Students are hand selected by their peers and teachers for grade level awards. We ask that students and teachers nominate those candidates who they feel are deserving of an award in different categories. You nominate your classmates or students! We are pleased to announce that the nomination process for the 2021 IBPC Awards is open.

We encourage you to nominate a classmate or student for any of these awards by completing the nomination form here: https://ibmidlo.wixsite.com/website/awards. If you have any questions, please refer to the FAQ page and then contact midlothianib@gmail.com

All nominations are due by May 5th at 3pm.

Thank you for helping us recognize outstanding students in our IB Community! We look forward to receiving your nominations.

All the best!”

Student Spotlights

Every month, our grade level representatives nominate a peer from each grade to recognize their outstanding work in and outside of school. This month we congradulate Diana Wesolosky, Megan Hurt, Avery Belisle, and Merna Aziz for their Student Spotlight nominations! Senior Spotlight, Diana Wesolosky, has been dedicated and successful on the volleyball team for several years. Megan Hurt has been an exceptional student throughout her junior year and participates in marching band, show choir band, and competitive diving. Sophomore Avery Belisle provides positive contributions to her classes, participates in Midlo’s City Lights, and spends her time outside of school gardening and creating her own costumes. Merna Aziz is a great addition to the classroom, as she is a great friend to her peers and contributes to class discussions. She also is a member of the school’s field hockey team. Great job to all of these wonderful students!

In Closing

We appreciate your ongoing support for the program and participation in our events. We truly could not run without the students, teachers, parents, and faculty that support us. As the fourth nine weeks carry on and the school year comes to a close, we know final assignments can be stressful, but keep pushing through, summer is just around the corner! As always, if you have any questions, concerns, or inquiries, you can contact us at midloibsc@gmail.com.
